Who: Jade Turner What: Her arrival When: Thursday evening [4-5-12] Where: The Forest of Doom Rating/Status: PG-13/Complete
Jade's best friend had won four tickets to their favorite band's concert and invited her to tag along with the other two people--her boyfriend Jackson and some other guy Jade didn't know--that she had decided to take along with her. Jade had been waiting for this day for weeks now and at this point, she was pretty much ecstatic. She loved the whole feel that every aspect of a concert brought along with it. The trip there, standing in line waiting for the doors to the venue to open. Energy was high, everyone was excited and anxious and when those doors finally opened, it was a stampede of people running over each other, all trying to get inside as quickly as possible. This was of course followed by my anxiety-ridden exitement bubbling throughout the concert hall as everyone waited for the show to start.
Alicia bought her beer along with her own so Jade could join in the fun with the rest of them, despite the fact that she was still two years shy of being legal drinking age. They weren't worried because they didn't think it was too likely anyone would be bothering to check ID's once people were off on their own. The little quartet walked around checking out merchandise tables, chatting excitedly about the show they were about to witness and tossing around ideas about where to eat later when it was over. The lights started to dim and the group raced to their seats to get the best view possible.
Just as Jade was really starting to get into the concert, she felt a slight tugging sensation, starting in her stomach and slowly spreading throughout the rest of her body and growing in intensity. She wasn't sure what to make of it, there was no way one beer had her this out of it and it had been in her hand since she had taken it from Ali, so it wasn't possible for someone to have slipped her anything either. She didn't have time to ponder the possibilities before the concert hall scene started melting together and the music and other sounds around her started distorting. Then everything went black, but she wasn't unconscious, she was fully aware that something was going on, even if she wasn't quite sure what it was. The main thing she was aware of was the world feeling all spin-y and the resounding thud that resulted from her body connecting with the ground.
Her vision slowly started to come back and she blinked her eyes rapidly, willing them to adjust as she pushed herself up to a sitting postion. "What the fuck?" she muttered to herself, shaking her head. That was weird. "Ali? Jack?" she called out for her friends, pushing herself up to her feet, still trying to get a handle on her surroundings. Trees. Lots of trees. That's all she could really see, which was weird considering she had just been in a concert hall in New York City. She shrugged and picked a random diection and started walking, hoping to find a way out. She soon found out that walking was apparently a very bad idea.
First, there was pain. Lots of intense, bone-crunching, muscle-ripping, tearing pain that started in her head and quickly spread to the rest of her body. She let out a sharp yell, her hands immediately moving to cradle her head as she dropped down to her knees with a soft whimper. As she lay there on the ground, hoping the pain would pass, she decided she wouldn't try walking again after that, but that didn't stop her from shimmering, right?
This also turned out to be a bad idea. Somewhere around mid-shimmer, an invisible force wrapped it's way around her throat, choking her before releasing and regripping to throw her a good hundred yards from where she had started out. However, that was only the first of several rather rough rag-doll shakes and with the last one came a new level of pain that Jade had never been aware of existing before. It was like fire and electricity working together to set her whole body alight. Just when she was starting to think she woudn't be able to handle much more, she was thrown out of the trees, landing hard enough on the ground to knock the wind out of her for several minutes.
