Picking the lock to the front door was easy compared to lifting the wards to let him in. But, George was successful in both tasks and now entered the Manchester house as if it were his own. He knew the owner of the house was out, probably at Quidditch training, but he didn't let that faze him. He just walked in and counted the seconds before the house's other occupants were alerted of his presence.
He didn't have to wait long as the sound of pattering padded feet coming toward him brought a grin to his face. "Hey Puppy!" George greeted as the Great Dane pup skidded to a halt at George's feet and looked up at him with big eyes that demanded a pat. George was only happy to oblige and scratched the dog behind the ears, glancing up and seeing the ear of a House Elf disappear around the corner.
The few times he had been over George had rarely saw the Elf and figured the creature must be shy. Or didn't like him. But, whatever. The Elf didn't seem to think he was a threat and left him be.
"So, where's your ball, Mac?" George asked, turning his attention back to the puppy. George had only met the pup the last time he was asked over and they had seemed to take an instant liking to one another. Mac raced out toward the back of the house and out into a garden, George following with a chuckle.
The pair played fetch for a while until they grew bored and headed back inside. Flopping on the sofa, which was surprisingly comfy, George lay there on his side, letting Mac clamber up and lie beside him. He played with the dog's ears, fingers playing with the soft fur there as Mac began to doze. He had no idea when Marcus was suppose to be home and before he knew it, he was asleep.
