Who: Kevin and Aunt Maureen
What: A visit to London
When: Friday, August 4, 2017
Where: In the car
Kevin had always enjoyed visiting Aunt Maureen. She was about ten years younger then his mum and as a single lady still knew how to go out and have a good time. She would take him to the best eateries and always made sure she bought him a gift of some sort. As they rode from his home back into London, he pondered what he would ask for this trip. There were some nice clothing stores and surely he could talk her into a new outfit for the upcoming school year. Upon deciding what he would ask for, he turned and looked a bit impatiently at his aunt. He had wanted this time to talk to her but she'd gotten a call shortly after they had begun the drive to her place.
Maureen glanced over at her nephew, a look of apology on her face as she held up a finger to tell her she'd be done in a moment. With a sigh she was finally able to escape the conversation. "Sorry, about that."
"It's okay, Aunt Maureen," Kevin assured her. "So, what are we going to do tomorrow? I thought we could go to Charing Cross and do some shopping. I could really use a new outfit or two for school."
His aunt turned her attention to the road and didn't speak for few moments. She had heard the excitement and hope in his voice and hated to disappoint. Then again, he was turning into a young man and she was certain she could trust him. "I have to work in the morning. Perhaps I can let you look around for yourself while I work. Then we can go out to lunch and purchase what you found afterwards."
Kevin couldn't believe his ears. He had been trying his best to figure out how he would escape his aunt. He was very greatful that she worked for a law firm on Cranbourn just a few blocks away. He would be able to decide something quickly then make a break for Diagon Alley. He would also be able to exchange not just the 20 euro he had but part of what she gave him to spend as well.
"I guess that'll be alright," he replied trying to sound down hearted while inside he was jumping for joy.
