"It's taking nearly forever this year," Kayleigh said in a faint whisper. She could hear the subtle sounds of rumbling stomachs from the other students around her.
The first day back always felt like the longest of the year to her. Out of paranoia she could never sleep the night before, was always dressed well before breakfast, and had to double check her trunk before she could leave the house. Some years she'd bring her own lunch, when there was time, but it was never enough and the food on the train was subpar.
As much as she enjoyed the Sorting Hat song and the new additions to their house, Kayleigh was as anxious as Pj for the feast to start.
