Nick smiled slightly at her choice of words. He'd never really had the chance to go through a career crisis, having been more focused on taking care of his sisters even when they didn't need it to really think about what he wanted to do. Thinking about it now when he was twenty-three years old and had been working at the Leaky for so many years just seemed... silly. He was surprised Rose hadn't laughed or lowered her opinion of him yet.
"I think so. Of course, to do that I'd have to quit the Leaky and that'd be a pain." He shrugged as he sliced up the chicken and dumped it into the pot. "It's been home for such a long time and I live just above the pub so it'd be weird to walk past and not head behind the counter, you know? I'm kind of scared quitting would be a mistake but at the same time I'm not exactly getting job satisfaction by working there..."
He realized he'd been talking ceaselessly about something that really only mattered to him and smiled again to hide his slight embarrassment. He didn't tend to talk about himself much and the rare times that he did he always felt like he was boring someone. "Sorry. I shouldn't be dumping that on you. How are you doing?"
