Mary wasn’t sure when the last time she’d been enjoying herself this much had been, but what she did know perfectly well was that the alcohol in her system wasn’t the cause of the extra bounce in her step. Her eyes temporarily flickered to her companion as she watched him empty his drink, before she tore her gaze back to her own drink in hand. So far, everything was going well, the flashing lights were making her dizzy (in a good way) and the brunette who’d been lurking at them before (or, Aubrey, rather) had finally found another victim. Good deal.
“Oh, so demanding.” she laughed a little as he told her they were going back to dancing, and though she’d been teasing him, didn’t object to him taking a hold of her hand. She quickly drained whatever was left in her glass until she saw the bottom of it while entwining her fingers in-between his at the same time. As he began to lead her back to the dance floor, she quickly put the glass down on the bar, and flashed the wary bartender a smile that plainly said she wasn’t exactly completely there anymore.
Not that she was drunk, not really, more like incredibly buzzed, which only helped to brighten her already good mood. As they walked back on the floor filled with bodies who were dancing so close to each other she couldn’t tell their limbs apart, her hips began to sway with the rhythm as she pulled herself closer to him by their still joint hands.
