Practice, for Lily, had let out earlier in the afternoon, so once she got home she'd taken a nice long shower then changed into comfortable clothes, anticipating being in for the night and just general relaxing. She hadn't anticipated being dared to go over to Aubrey's house to see if he actually had gotten her a present too big to owl, but once she was dared, she couldn't back down.
In all honesty, Lily didn't care about getting things for her birthday. She never really had. She didn't fight people on it because she figured if they really wanted to do something for it, they could, but she wasn't really upset if people didn't get her anything. It just wasn't in her nature to care. Most of her friends and all of her family knew that, but it didn't seem to stop them from getting her things.
She pushed herself off her couch and decided to leave the loft in what she was wearing--sweatpants and a too big for her but very comfortable sweatshirt. It wasn't as though she was going to try to impress anyone with her appearance that night. She felt like being comfortable, so she would take comfort with her.
Outside of the building, she apparated to Aubrey's building and made her way to the appropriate flat. She'd been there enough times that she didn't need directions anymore. She stood outside the door and leaned against the frame before knocking on the door and waiting.
