"It really was, until I realised it was him. I'll have to tell you the story sometime," she said. It would be far easier if she didn't have to yell it over the music.
She nodded. She had been there since she'd been home, but she really had to be regimented about not overloading her schedule with any one thing. "Or at the very least he can come prop up the bar when I'm working at Hollow Hill," she said. She didn't want to speak for Gael, but she suspected he might need to find himself again before he tried to lose himself in someone else. She needed to make time for a proper catch up. More things for the agenda.
Just then a man appeared in her eyeline and smiled at her. He was cute enough in a muscular kind of way and tall enough to climb, but she just wasn't in the mood. She smiled back slightly and shook her head. "Another time," she mouthed. His smile dropped, but thankfully to disappointment not anger and he nodded shortly at her before moving away. "At least he passed the vibe check," she said to the circle of women, who had likely all caught the scene.
"He was hot," Mel said. "You don't have to use the sofa!"
Fina laughed and nodded. "I know, I just wasn't feeling it."
