"I hear cats are sneaky that way." And in a village like Tarrytown Joe wouldn't be at all surprised to find out that there were cats which could walk through walls. Maybe familiars had gifts that they didn't deign to tell their witches about.
Joe's arms went around Ram in a fierce hug, just as he had wanted to give him earlier. Closing his eyes, he focused on the warmth of Ram, not just his body heat but the consistently generous nature that he saw. It suffused him right down to his toes, relaxing every line of his body. Joe rested his cheek atop Ram's head, even the smell of this man so familiar to him now. "Me too, kitten," he murmured, letting go the last thing on his mind. He turned his head, lips brushing against Ram's temple.
When they finally disentangled themselves just enough, Joe pressed his lips to Ram's in an unhurried kiss, his hands resting firmly at Ram's waist. His plans to tease Ram went entirely out the window, though he had a smirk when he pulled back. "There's no way I'm saying goodbye tonight."
