Re: Heather & Bea & open - Sunday, around 3.30am
"Yeah, there were a few of those too," Heather remarked wryly, unable to stop her thoughts from going to Luke and how he'd said that he would have been flirting with her if he'd been at the truck at the same time as her. Her smile turned soft and pleased. "I'm guessing a hi-vis vest doesn't have the same effect on people?" she joked.
Taking a sausage for herself, Heather had to agree with Bea's assessment. "Yeah, she is. She caught me in a moment of weakness." It had to be weird for Pepper to have so many strangers on her home turf so Heather tried to see it as taking pity on her instead of just giving in.
"That's probably my favourite thing about Tarrytown," she admitted. Community and connections, things that had spoken to her deeply even before she had recognized the alpha in herself. Watching Pepper wolf down the sausage, Heather wondered whether the Collie had noticed that part of her before she had. "I think so? She took to me quickly enough when we met." Though witnessing Heather shift from a wolf had probably played a part.
