Benji looked at her for a long moment, considering the options, but that tone in her voice tugged at his heartstrings, and he just couldn't leave it be. "Well then, if you'd like a new friend who can help you try, I'm at your disposal," he offered. "I've been told it's okay to just claim friends." Even if Iris hadn't put it quite like that. She'd claimed him, though, and he felt like it couldn't hurt to do so now with Kate.
"I'm Benji, by the way. I can't remember if I ever told you my name," he admitted sheepishly.
He chuckled at her suggestions of better party conversation. "I mean, the garden is beautiful, but I think we shouldn't be bothered by what the 'right' conversation is for the setting and just keep going with what's worked so far." Because their conversation had seemed to flow so naturally so far.
