Re: Kate & Benji & Open
When Emilia had first suggested he go out to this party tonight, Benji had been skeptical, but then she'd followed it up by insisting it could be to celebrate her end of exams, and... well, he was a softie, because now here he was at a garden masquerade (what did that even mean? Masks, sure, but was the garden just the location? The theme was a bit confusing for him.), vastly underdressed in his jeans, though he did at least have a clean, short-sleeved button down in a vibrant shade of blue that made his own eyes pop a bit more. He couldn't bring himself to embrace the mask part of the evening, but he thought he could probably get himself to socialize at least a little bit.
Surprisingly, he'd spotted a couple people he knew, or that he'd at least met, and when he spotted Kate, the dairy vendor from the farmer's market, he found himself wandering her way. "You look about as lost as I feel," he told her, hoping he didn't come off as a creep. But she had seemed just a bit hesitant about immersing herself in the foray, and he could definitely empathize with that.
