Beautiful chapter, beautiful story. I was trying to find where, but it's not important, you had Buffy thinking how she was so caught up in her loneliness that she never stopped considering Spike's loneliness. I always thought that it was never stretched enough, how this guy who's lived in a time of pressing social obligation, then re-raised as a vampire in another (kind of) family, and then always having a lover and minions around, and lots of acquaintances---remember the big party they were organizing in Sunnydale---how terribly lonely he found himself to be after the chip, after Buffy's death and return, always kept apart with nobody to talk to. You made me think about that again when he was in the kitchen cooking...it was heartbreaking, and your narration has loneliness looming in every chapter like the stone guest. (Riccadonna)
