Caitlin was a little doped up on pain medications at the moment. So of course it would be easy to excuse what she was about to say. But it wasn't just that Caitlin couldn't help herself. Sure, the function between her brain and her mouth that let her actually consider her words before blurting them out was a little fuzzy. But that didn't change the feelings behind them.
