It took all his strength to keep his eyes off of her. Seriously, the image of such a strong woman he adored broken and helpless and with him unable to do anything broke his heart in multiple pieces. A few times he had to close his eyes, and pinch his nose, and try to keep his composure together.
Finally, when he was certain he wouldn't start crying, he looked down at her again. "Your head's in a brace, Caitlin." He said softly, though his voice quivered faintly. "It'll only be until we get you to the hospital, and make sure you aren't injured."
And then, maybe, he could ask her how she got there, to New York, and was no longer stuck in the future.
