God, it was her. It was Caitlin and she was bleeding and hurt and he couldn't help her, couldn't save her. What a terrible first day on the job.
It took effort, but he got her on the stretcher, secured safely without risk of damaging her further. He even opted to ride in the back with her. His fellow EMTs thought he was just being the usual sap he was.
