He sighs some, looking away from the other for a moment. They were completely alone in the Park; it was quiet and their voices had to be kept low. What would someone think if they were walking along in the park and heard Gabriel talking about how he was a murderer? He looks back over to the man and offers him a smile, resting his hand on his shoulder and giving it a squeeze.
"It's not who you were, Gabriel, it's the man you're going to be for the baby." He nods a little, biting on his bottom lip for a moment. "Molly helped me realize that. She doesn't care what happened in the time I had her live with my mother in Chennai... she doesn't want to know that I've hurt and killed people trying to harness that formula. It's all about the life we live together now. That baby coming into the world, Gabriel? They're so pure and innocent. He'll look up at you with those huge baby eyes and you'll forget everything that happened in the past because that baby will be your future."
Gabriel was a good man. Mohinder had seen it in Zane. Maybe it was what he saw now; he saw the man he went on a trip with for answers. He had lied to him, but it was really all for Mohinder's safety, and he appreciated that. Gabriel was like the 'Zane' he got to know, and it was hard not to think about the relationship they had before the truth came out.
"At least I'm not playing annoying mother and saying 'See what happens when you don't use protection?' and chastising you about it all." He gives a playful smile, looking over at Gabriel again. "This'll be the best time of your life. Quit thinking about the past and focus on the future, okay?" He pauses for a moment. "Did you bring some of those paintings for me to see? Are there any involving me?" He wasn't sure he really wanted to know what the future held.
