Nathan hadn't been able to get ahold of Danko directly, but he had left the other man a message. He hoped the older man would show up simply so he wouldn't have to go over the same information too many times. It was all ready becoming a little redundant in his mind. He was getting comfortable with the little speech he was giving. He believed it was all necessary but once you reached a certain level of comfort with anything you began to relax. He couldn't relax. If he relaxed there was a good chance he could accidentally let the abilities of his family or the fact that he was giving Sylar and Elle free passes slip. He couldn't do that. Nathan had to be on his game.
The fact that he was giving Sylar a free pass was slightly amusing. Back in 2006 the man had been on the FBI's most wanted list. He'd managed to kill Peter twice and, at the time, Nathan had mentally sworn vengeance upon the other man. The run-in in the watch shop had changed all of that. While Sylar was still a threat and should be handled with caution, Nathan had decided that both Sylar and the Petrelli family had done enough to each other in the past to let him slip through the cracks. The man had something close to a family now. He deserved a second chance.
While looking over Sylar's case, Nathan came across the name of an FBI agent who'd worked on it. After reading through his files and her profile, along with the profiles of several other FBI agents who'd love the opportunity to work on a super secret assignment for a Senator, Nathan had decided that she was the only competent one in the entire Bureau. Agent Hanson may not have known exactly what she was dealing with but her theories were as close to right on the money as one could be. The only thing holding her back from an actual rest was information. Nathan was impressed.
It also didn't hurt that she'd worked with Matt Parkman and could be helpful in apprehending him.
He put in a call directly to her supervisor and had requested her personally. There'd been a bit of an argument but, in the end, Nathan's authority trumped the authority of the FBI supervisor and he'd sent her along.
Finishing up the board he'd been working on in the conference room he stepped outside and looked around. Spotting a young woman waiting in one of the chairs just outside of the offices he smiled. "Agent Hanson, I presume." He said, extending a hand to her as he approached. "I'm Nathan Petrelli. I'm glad you could join me today. With any luck we'll have one other person joining us. If not it'll just be us today. The information I'll be sharing with you is top secret so I trust you'll use discretion."
