Friends perhaps wasn't the best way to describe it, but there wasn't any simple way to explain how Adam and Elle had gotten along. They had been of similar mindsets, he'd found. Whatever was best for them was what they did. Take what you want and don't worry about the consequences. It had been an understanding between two prisoners. Companionship when extremely long spans of time were spent alone, ignored, or dismissed.
Tolerating her when she had been a very small youth had eventually became appreciating her when she was older as well as respecting the power that she could wield. She was an impressive force. Or at least, she could have been if she had actually been given the chance.
"That was the point, my dear," Adam said, a cheeky smile crossing his face at her saying that he had just disappeared. Montreal hadn't been on the Company's grid of places that he would retreat to, and so many years of experience had allowed him to keep one step ahead of the people who were tracking him. It had only been Hiro that had destroyed it all (again), but that was all a moot point now. He was a free man, and there was no need to dwell on the not too distant past. "You're looking well. Extremely well. The fresh air does you good," He said, chuckling to himself.
His attention was distracted as he looked up at the man introduced as Gabriel. And not only that, but as her boyfriend. Angela must not have been pulling his leg. Bob really was dead.
Adam laughed, grinning at Gabriel ad he gave him a nod in greeting since he wasn't exactly in the position to shake heads. Adam knew that he wouldn't have moved from how they were standing in order to, and he wasn't going to expect anyone else to.
"Good to see that one of them actually managed not to get turned into a statue by Bobby," Adam said, smirking. "And old friend, indeed. Considerably ancient by modern standards. It's nice to meet you, my friend."
