She hadn't seen Adam since that night on the docks, when both he and Peter had gotten away. She'd been with the Haitian at the time, but of course she was the only one to get punished for the two men escaping. She'd never bothered arguing the point with her father. She'd learned early on not to expect "fair" from him.
"Where've you been?" Without bothering to think about it, or how Gabriel might react, she pulled Adam into a quick hug. For years he'd been one of the only "friends" she had. Of course, saying he was one of the only ones who put up with her was more accurate.
She pulled back then, holding him at arm's length, her eyes sparkling. "I always wondered what happened to you. After that night on the docks you just...disappeared."
It wasn't until she felt Gabriel's arms wrap around her waist that she thought to introduce the two of them. Dropping her hands from Adam's shoulders, she laid them over Gabriel's, leaning back into him slightly. "Adam, I'd like you to meet my....boyfriend," She'd never used that term before and it still threw her a little. "Gabriel. Gabriel, this is Adam Monroe. He's an old friend of mine."
