Of all of the voices that he thought he might recognize out here on the New York streets, that was not one of them. His gaze had been directed elsewhere even if he had felt the eyes on him. His instincts had readily himself for some sort of confrontation, but this was not what he had expected. Turning his gaze to meet Elle's, an amused smile twisted his features.
"Well, well, well. Two caged birds flying free. What are the odds?" Adam asked, a vague amusement in his tone as he stepped over to Elle. It was unusual, seeing her in a real world environment. He knew that she had had more freedom than he had even if it hadn't been by much, so she hadn't spent all of her time locked up in Hartsdale, but he could only imagine that this was a different experience than what she was used to.
As it was, he couldn't see any agent escorts trailing her to make sure that Daddy's precious little girl didn't get herself in over her head in situations that she could handle if Robert actually let her. That was, unless the man with her was new.
