Bouncing his knee against the desk, Peter pursed his lips and exhaled. That lasted all of ten seconds. With a glance to the clock, he tried to think of something else to do. There were a dozen paper clips in the tray. Taking them out, he strung them together.
Another look to the clock told him that had taken twenty seconds. Groaning, he sat back in his chair. It was going to take forever at this rate. There had to be a quicker way to make time fly.
Well, there was, but who knew how far forward he would end up? It was really not a good idea to try for a few minutes just yet. Besides, now wasn't the time to be practicing his powers. The last time hadn't ended so spectacularly.
Checking his watch, he found another thirty seconds were gone. Peter stood up. Was there nothing to do in the damned apartment? After six weeks of stopping by, he should know the answer to that question. Then again, there was rarely enough time to do much exploring.
Which is what got them in the situation in the first place.
Peter glanced over the small living room.
Mohinder was sitting on the couch, his head in his hands. Scrubbing his fingers through his hair, the geneticist groaned.
Narrowing his eyes, Peter crossed his arms. What the hell was his problem? It wasn't like he was...
The timer on coffee table dinged.
Mohinder froze. Closing his eyes, he forced his hands from his hair. His curls stuck up in odd areas, the gel holding it in place. Wiping his hands on his pants, he raised his face to look at the array of strips, sticks, and cups on the table. The moment his eyes made contact, he sighed. "Oh dear."
A loud thump echoed in the apartment as Peter hit the floor.
THE END......................
