Who: Allison Argent and James Sirius Potter What: Getting googly eyes over a recurve bow inside a hunting supply store Where: Outside a hunting supply store in Hemlock Grove When: forward dated to Tuesday afternoon Warnings: None Status:Incomplete Hemlock Grove was a lot of things but big was not one of them. Allison had been there for a matter of days and she already thought she knew the place like the back of her hand. Even though she hadn’t figured out how she’d come to be there or why she was there, she at least knew the town. She’d decided that she would take Deucalion’s advice, too, and invest in a bow. Even if she didn’t need it right away, it was smart to be armed in a dangerous situation. In her experience, unknown situations were always dangerous.
That was what led her to the hunting supply store. For a small town, the people of Hemlock Grove did sure seem to love their hunting. The place was stocked with rifles and accessories but, more appealing to Allison, bows. She’d found one in particular that was similar to her recurve bow from home. Allison picked it up to get a better look at it. It was a similar weight and handled in a way that reminded her of her bow. This was one of those things where the closer she could get to her old bow the better off she’d be.
“‘Prolly a little heavy for you.” Remarked a sales clerk over Allison’s shoulder. She really hadn’t wanted to deal with the man. Chances were that she probably knew just as much as he knew about the weapons sold in the store.
“It’s a good weight.” She smiled, holding it up and aiming at a nonexistent target off on the other side of the store. “Can you hold it for me? I can’t buy it today.”
“We don’t usually do that.” Allison’s smile faded slightly at the clerk’s answer, but she nodded, understanding. She told herself that it was unlikely someone else would buy the bow in the small amount of time she needed to get the money. She had two possible options - Her dad or Deucalion.
“That’s okay. I’ll be back for it when I have the cash.” Carefully, she placed the bow back onto the display, treating it as if it was made of glass. She was a little disappointed she couldn’t just buy it on the spot, but she’d get it soon enough. “Thanks for your time.”
Allison turned and walked out of the store, the bells on the door jingling as it closed behind her.
