He'd gone into town for...something. He couldn't remember what. He'd forgotten as soon as he'd seen the girl. She stared at him from across the street, her eyes cold and hard, and if looks could kill he'd drop dead then and there.

Sarah Brooks, without a doubt. He'd know her anywhere. She'd been his first girlfriend, and his first victim. He remembered their first date, the funny feeling he'd had in his belly, and the next thing he'd known, Lara was coming into his room the next morning throwing open the curtains, declaring what a beautiful day it was outside. He'd known, instinctively that he'd never see Sarah Brooks again.

She'd been his first victim, the first of many. He might not remember all their names, but he remembered all their faces. He saw them there now, gathering around Sarah. He stood frozen where he was, staring at the gathering crowd, unable to move and afraid to take his eyes off them.

Justine had grown worried when Thomas was late in returning. She didn't like him going alone, not when he was so vulnerable, but he knew she was no less so, and so she had stayed in. But now, she was anxious, and she couldn't sit still any longer. She made her way down to street level, not even bothering to see if their roommate, Cas, was around. All she cared about was finding Thomas.

	Thomas' focus shifted when he sensed her. Justine. She was the one, of all of them, of everyone who ever shared his bed, she was the one who brought him sanity. She was the one he loved. He turned toward her. "No. No. You don't get to be here. No." He put his hands out, and shook his head. Justine was not among his victims. He would never accept that. The moment her fingertips touched his skin, he felt the sharp stab of pain. All at once, the sea of victims disintegrated, disappearing in front of his eyes. He blinked, and shifted his focus to Justine. She was the only one who remained, standing there where the others had been.

"Justine?" he murmured. He wanted so badly to touch her, to pull her to him and hold her against his chest.

	As soon as Thomas became lucid, Justine let go of his hand, and wrapped her arms around his waist. She wore a long sleeved hoodie, so once she buried her face against his shirt, he would be safe from any more blisters. "It's me. I'm okay. We're going to be okay." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Thomas looked down at his blistered hand. Hers was just as badly burned. It would heal, sure, but it was unpleasant for now, and Justine had suffered that for him. He nodded softly. "OKay," he repeated. "I'm sorry." For so many things, he was sorry. "Take me home, Justine." Where he couldn't touch her, but they could be together. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	She stepped back with one foot, hooking an arm through one of Thomas', and drawing him back toward the apartment building. She had ointment in their room, and dinner waiting to be served. 	Thomas walked with Justine, arm in arm, their skin protected by layers of clothing. He glanced back over his shoulder, but the street was entirely empty. He drew a breath, and continued to walk forward with Justine leading the way. (Reply to this) (Parent)
