This wasn't right! It wasn't even slightly humorous, which Alex might even forgive Hatch for, and it wasn't safe. She wasn't going to be prudish about it - it wasn't the first time she'd woken up next to a total stranger - but it was the first time she'd done it since being dead. In other circumstances she might even have joked about her sudden upturn in good fortune; if she hadn't been in the middle of the apocalypse, that is. The thought of which brought back a wave of sadness. At home she had the support of her friends, but here... who knew where she'd been brought to! It certainly wasn't Barry, though it looked like Hatch might have won his war on humanity. Was this what the world looked like after The Devil won?
It was strange walking down a street where she could be seen. At home it was only supernatural beings that could tell she was a ghost, but it seemed that the rules had been rewritten suddenly. People even got freaked out when you walked through them, though Alex only did it a handful of times, just to make sure that the effect on them was the same. It was. "Tom would fucking love that!" she said to herself, part delighted with the new game, and sad that she couldn't share it with her werewolf friend. She found that playing chicken held all kinds of new delights too, though alone it just didn't seem nearly as much fun. With a sigh Alex ceased her childish ghost-games and headed into the nearest bar. "I can't drown my sorrows, but at least I can hang out with the other spirits!" she told herself. Tom would have laughed at that. Hal might even have cracked a slight smirk. Who knew being without them would be so fucking depressing?
The other problem with being a ghost was the lack of money. Okay, she had her wallet, and it was even filled with the usual miscellany of cash, cards and vouchers found anywhere. The major difference was that when living people handed over their money it stayed handed over, and rarely, if ever, vanished. It left her in a rather strange predicament. How to get a drink in a bar without money. She was shit at flirting and besides it would feel like she was cheating on Hal, even though their 'relationship' was new and barely there. Alex still wasn't in the mood to screw it up. "I don't suppose you'd buy a ghost a drink, would you?" she glanced at the person sat next to her at the bar. "I figured the direct approach might work, seeing as I don't exactly know the rules of this crazy new hell," she said with a grin, "so, did it work?"
