Hal had been quite glad that the stranger hadn’t been in the apartment when he finally came back home. To be honest, he was hoping the bloke found somewhere else to sleep, because he did not want to share a place with somebody he didn’t know. If he had his way he would be sharing with Tom and Alex, if she were there. But, instead he was stuck with someone he didn’t even know, which could become a very bad thing.
He had been channel surfing when he heard the front door open, which meant his roommate didn’t find somewhere else to stay. Not only that, he started babbling the minute he walked into the living room. All Hal could do at first was stare. Did this person ever shut up, or did he just go on and on and on? He glanced at the man’s hand and then slowly looked back up at him. “Hal Yorke,” he replied as he turned the television off. “What are you? Because it’s not human.”
