Alex didn't even know why she was entertaining the thought of letting someone go out with her. She was more than capable of taking care of herself. No one thought that to look at her, of course. She just looked like a normal girl, something she'd used to her advantage on more than one occasion. She was much stronger than she looked, and tougher too. But if there really were all kinds of monsters here, she should be more careful. She'd heard people talking about vampires for days. That was something she'd have to see to believe. Vampires weren't real. That was just insane.

Hell dimensions weren't supposed to be real either though, and here she was. She kind of went crazy staying around the apartments all the time. She wanted to get out, and do some exploring or something. And she supposed it wouldn't be horrible to have someone come with her. She didn't know Mitchell, but she figured if something happened, or if he tried anything...she could handle herself. She walked out of the apartment building and looked around. It'd be dark soon. It was probably a good idea to do things by the buddy system. She'd have rather had Molly go with her though. Alex was normally a lot more comfortable around women, than men. That made sense with her past. But she couldn't exactly ask Molly to go everywhere with her either, and Mitchell had offered. She'd declined him at first, but ended up here anyway.

She sat on the bottom step, waiting. They probably shouldn't stray too far from the apartments.

Mitchell had tried that whole 'being human' thing. He'd sworn off the blood, and he'd made a good run at being a regular guy, with a regular job, and a couple of friends. But his best friend had been a werewolf, and his girlfriend was a ghost. In the end, it was all an act, and one split second decision reconfirmed what exactly he was; a monster.

He was once again playing the game, and so far quite successfully. His room mate had no idea he had a lethal set of fangs, and jet black eyes full of hunger and bloodlust. And because he was drinking from human donors, any bruises he won in a scuffle faded quickly, and no one who didn't see him engaged in the act of feeding had no idea he wasn't the very portrait of 20-something man.

He wasn't entirely sure what his intentions were with Alex, but then he hadn't expected her to agree to meet up with him. Meeting up with someone you didn't know was hardly ever a good idea. But then, they were in hell, they all woke up in bed with a complete stranger. He supposed the whole scenario was so far fetched that meeting up with another stranger probably didn't seem all that dangerous.

"You must be Alex," he stepped toward her, seeming to materialise out of the shadows.

Alex had no idea what she was getting into. This was mainly in the interest of getting to know someone and not getting killed out here by herself. This place was dangerous, she knew that. She didn't know how much of the monster talk she believed, but she was smart enough to know it wasn't safe. The buddy system was a good idea. She just thought Molly would have probably been a better choice, but that was okay. Mitchell would do.

Well, he'd come out of nowhere. She hadn't even known he was out here yet. But there were lots of shadowy places, and he could have just been standing there. She stood up, and nodded. "And you must be Mitchell." It'd be a good idea for them to go now, and get back before too long. The sun would be down completely soon, and then who knew what might happen?

"Have you checked this place out much on your own?" She asked him. She didn't know anything about him, but he seemed alright. It wasn't like he knew her either, and he'd been nice enough to offer to escort her.

"Some, yeah," Mitchell answered. He had prowled the streets, mostly sizing up his competition, seeing who and what was around that needed to be noted. He hadn't seen anything much darker than himself, vampires were common, at least. He hadn't yet determined if that would make things easier, or harder, to survive while feeding the monster within, and in truth he didn't care. He was hungry, and that was what mattered.

he was hungry for blood, and there was a donor right in front of him. Out the window were his self righteous morals of before. All that he'd preached to the vampires at the funeral parlor was complete crap. Vampires were blood thirsty monsters, he knew that, and he embraced it now, rather than trying to hide it.

He just had to get this girl, Alex, alone somewhere safe, where he could drain her and dump her and be done with it. Her blood would keep him content for a while, until he sought out another victim, and another after that. It was a vicious cycle, but the drinking was a high greater than sex.

"It's a pretty dangerous place. You sure you want to wander these streets?" He'd give her an out. If she decided she didn't want to do it after all, she'd be safe. But if she insisted, and allowed him to walk with her, well. He was a monster, he didn't ask for the bloodlust, but neither did he choose to deny it any longer.

Alex was doing her best to deal with being here. For the moment, there didn't seem to be anything that anyone could do about it. This was how it was. Accepting that was better than spending energy fighting something that was truly impossible for now. She didn't want to be here. Her being here did absolutely no good for Nikita, but she would get out of this place. They all would. They had to. This would not be Alex's life. Not for very long, anyway.

Alex looked around a bit. This place just had a really creepy vibe. They had no idea what could be lurking out there, in the dark. Or Alex didn't. Mitchell might know better. Alex didn't really know him too well. But he'd offered to go with her, and the supposed slayers were pretty adamant on there being a buddy system. If they ran into trouble, she was sure she could keep them safe. At least, pretty sure. Reasonably sure.

She had no idea that Mitchell was anything other than human. He certainly didn't look different. She had no reason to suspect anything. In fact, Alex thought if Mitchell did have less than savory intentions, she could take him down. People were always underestimating her, based on her size and non-threatening appearance. That was a mistake, but it was one she could use to her own advantage.

"I know, I've heard." Alex said, looking at him. "But I can take care of myself. And don't worry, if something big and nasty comes along, I'll protect you too." Because hell no, she wasn't just some damsel in distress. Alex was a survivor, always had been.

"I appreciate that," Mitchell said, voice lilting with an amused tone. She'd protect him, yeah right. The real question was, who was going to protect her from him? No one, that's who, because he was going to make sure no one interrupted his plans.

He felt kind of bad, and he knew that was George and Annie's influence on him. But he was't their flatmate anymore, he wasn't that guy who was trying to do right by the world. He wasn't interested in keeping his head down and playing by society's rules any more. Society had never done him any favors, so why should he try to blend in when he had the means to stand out in a crowd?

He wasn't doing anything more than honoring his true nature. Who could fault him for that? And it wasn't his fault people got hurt, people got killed. He was a vampire, and he wasn't going to hide it any longer.

"So I guess you've had some personal safety classes or some such?" he asked casually. He knew sometimes the ones who looked like they couldn't pack a punch were the ones who could do the most damage. Of course a human had little hope of fighting back against the supernatural strength of a vampire.

Alex smirked slightly, at least he seemed to have somewhat of a sense of humor. She didn't know much about him, outside of his name. Maybe that would change while they were out exploring or whatever this was. The whole buddy system thing was annoying, but probably necessary for now. If they really were in some hell dimension, maybe there were real monsters here. Alex didn't much like thinking about that, though.

She didn't know how she would adjust to being here, but she supposed she didn't have a choice. Today marked one week since most of them had ended up there, but more people had come since. People could show up, but no one could leave. That baffled Alex. If there was a way in, there had to be a way out, right? They just had to find it. They just needed to know where to start looking. For all intents and purposes, during the day...it seemed like this was almost normal Los Angeles, but the night life seemed to be a different story.

She started walking, staying on guard and alert. She might not look like much, but she was pretty skilled, thanks to Nikita. "Not exactly." She told him when he asked if she'd had personal safety classes. She'd been trained by Nikita, and she was deadly when she needed to be. She hoped she wouldn't have to kill anyone here. If Amanda showed up though, all bets were off.

"So where are you from, Mitchell?" She asked, making conversation as they walked. Judging by his accent, she thought he might be Irish or maybe Scottish, but Irish seemed more likely. Since she lacked an accent, he probably assumed she was American.

Mitchell fell into step right beside Alex, appearing alert to any danger. The truth was he'd smell it before he'd see anything out of the ordinary. One of the perks of being a vampire, his sense of smell was amped up to super power level.

"I was born in Ireland, migrated to England some time ago." More like 100 years ago, but he wasn't going to mention that. Some things were better left unsaid. The less she knew about him the better, and the less he knew about her, the easier it would be to rip her jugular open and drink his fill from her life's blood.

He couldn't wait for that moment. The first taste was almost orgasmic, and the act of drawing the blood from living veins was so much better. He licked his lips in anticipation, but he had to wait for the right moment. Rushing things was hardly ever the right choice.

Alex nodded, listening to him. She figured that it was a good idea for her to get to know people. They had no idea how long they might be here. Alex mostly kept to herself around people she didn't know, it was easier. She didn't know who she could trust. Being cautious was just who Alex was. It was part of how she had survived so long.

Here, though, getting to know people might be necessary. They were all in the same situation. None of them really knew what was going on here, or what might happen. And it was with that in mind that she was going along with this. And because of the dangers that might be here. She didn't know how much of it she believed. She was doing the best she could to get used to this place, and trying to fit in with people.

She walked with him, silent for now. She couldn't decide if she wanted to tell him anything about herself. He'd told her where he was from, there wouldn't be much harm in returning the favor, she just wasn't sure about it yet. For now she stayed quiet. He hadn't asked, after all.

He didn't ask because he didn't want to know. He didn't want to know anything about her. The less he knee about her, the better. Easier to stay focused that way, easier to keep it all business. He tended to get attached, Anne and George were good examples of that, and when he got attached to someone, he screwed it up sooner or later. better to feed and be done with it, and move on to the next victim. That's all his life was now, a series of one victim after the next. At least when he was well fed he didn't think about the, and didn't hear their screams in his head.

They walked in relative silence, and Mitchell attempted to play the fierce protector. he had a role to play, until he could get what he wanted. He just had to figure out how to get her somewhere quiet and secluded so he could rip into her aorta and have his fill.

Alex was content with walking in silence for now. They didn't have to get to know one another. She really didn't even know what to say to him. She didn't even know him, and she didn't want to share anything at the moment. She might have shared more if she knew him. Maybe some day, she'd be comfortable with it. It wasn't the easiest thing, anyway. Silence was underappreciated. People ruined a lot of perfectly nice moments with talking.

She was very alert, looking around them for any sign of trouble. It was nice to just get out for a little while. It wasn't quite chilly just yet, but there was definitely a hint in the crisp fall air. It wouldn't be very long before the nights would get much colder.

The time passed slowly, at least from Mitchell's perspective. Though it was not even an hour before he found himself in an ideal location, it felt like five hours to him. But finally, they were alone, in a dark service alley, under the guide of hunting in shadows.

He didn't take time to think about what he was doing. Thinking had always been his downfall. Once upon a time ago, he'd thought he could be human again by living in a flat with another guy, keeping a job, he'd even tried dating. But in the end, he was a vampire, and vampires were never meant to pass as human.

He moved silently, with supernatural speed. In a matter of seconds, once he'd decided this was the time and place to do it, he was on er, ripping into her soft flesh with the razor sharp points of his fangs, setting in motion the blood that would feed his insatiable hunger.

Alex was so alert about the danger around her, that she didn't know what kind of danger she might be in with him. She hadn't really even given it a second thought. She had no idea that he was anything other than human. And she thought if he did try something with her, she would be able to handle it. He wouldn't be expecting her to be as strong as she was.

She just had no idea what she was actually dealing with though. She had heard about what might be here, but as of yet she hadn't seen anything for herself. She wasn't remotely prepared for Mitchell's attack. It had come out of nowhere, and she was powerless to stop him. She had no defense really, against a vampire.

Alex did the best she could to fight him off once he'd attacked, but it was no use. He was stronger and faster than she was. She didn't stand a chance. She didn't even really have a chance to scream. This was it. He was going to kill her. Well, she'd be lying if she didn't say it was entirely what she wanted, and what she deserved.
