Oliver could tell that Laurel was unsure and completely nervous. She only stumbled over her words when she was one or both of those things. “I’m not busy.” He had been anything other than busy. He was actually glad that Laurel had decided to stop by, it got him out of his head. “I’m glad that you’re here,” he said with a smile. He also opened the door wider and moved a bit out of the way so that Laurel could come in. There was no point for her to keep standing out in the hallway.
Once she was inside, he closed the door and motioned towards the couch in the living room. “Want anything to drink?” He was trying to make things seem normal even though nothing about the situation they were in was normal. Things back home weren’t even normal. And even though he was glad to see Laurel, he still wasn’t quite sure how to act around her at the moment.
