"Jer..." Elena wept opening in her brother's arms. He tightened the hold he hand around her and the action, so protective, so loving, only broke her more. How? How could he look at her? He must know what she'd done. The people she'd killed in her emotionless state. The amount of blood flow she'd caused in Mystic Falls and in New York City till they'd been pulled here. Even here, he must have seen, heard, about her and how cold she'd been to people she'd considered friends and Damon and Stefan. She'd pushed them all away, insulted them openly, and pushed Tyler's buttons because it was fun. She didn't think about the consequences because she had no conscience. Not anymore. His fingers touched her hair, cradling the back of her head, and the vampire held him closer. After everything, he was still holding her. Still loving her.
"I don't feel so strong now. I made a big mess, Jer," she replied, voice rather hoarse from all the crying, and she pulled back, but only enough to look up at him. Part of her was still very afraid to let him go because once gone from her arms, he just might fade away completely and she couldn't bear that. Not after now and tonight. "I killed people. I hurt our friends. It's going to take a a lot for them to forgive me." She'd been an absolute bitch to Caroline. Plus, she had tried to kill both the other vampire and her mother. Caroline wouldn't let her off the hook so easily, but Elena knew her brother was right, too. She was her best friend. They would work it out. Elena would make sure of it.
"It's the sire bond, Jeremy. Or something. I don't even know any more. I can't hate him for it, Jer. I know why he did it. I can understand," she replied, sniffling quietly. His added mention of Rose peaked her interest and she looked at him curiously. When Jeremy had spoke to Rose, it'd been to find out about who sired her, but maybe she'd been foolish to think for a moment that she hadn't been saying other things and Jeremy just hadn't told her or made mention of it till now. It was no secret that she was full on Team Damon when it came to who the teenager should end up with. If she said anything regarding the two, it wouldn't surprise her, not at all. "Rose? That was a while ago Jer." Or it seemed so long ago.
