There was a reason they hadn't left the hotel on the first day. While they both wanted to explore, they decided it wasn't worth the effort to try to get Judith into her layers of clothing.
On the second day, though they decided to take on the challenge.
It wasn't like Erik had never seen slightly more complicated women's undergarments, but this was beyond his scope of knowledge. Thankfully, it was mostly laid out in order in her wardrobe, so it was mostly a matter of getting her into the garments at all. It was hard to imagine Judith in things like corsets and petticoats.
"It's fortunate that Victorian women didn't need to breathe," he commented, holding Judith's corset with an amused expression on his face. He was already mostly dressed, save for his vest, jacket, and hat, which he still wasn't sure if he wanted to wear.
