Castiel took time to listen to Pearl, chin lifted a little and eyes squinted in concentration. He breathed out when she was finished, still feeling the frustration of the situation Peridot had caused. He had also put a hand on Claire's shoulder in preparation to leave.
Pearl's words hit home. He knew of Peridot's struggles to regain footing in a world that made little sense. He realized, now, the full extent of the miscommunication. He respected Pearl's perspective and her protectiveness of Peridot. He pursed his lips at her request.
"Perhaps later. I would be willing to discuss in more detail the spiritual structure of my world with you as long as you are with Peridot at the time. My patience, though, currently is short. Claire..." He paused, taking a good look at the cockiness on the face of the teenager. "Claire, we should discuss this."
He led Claire to the door turning to Peridot.
"Do not mess with my family again. I realize you wished to prove yourself to me. This is not the way to do so," Castiel said, before leading Claire through the door.
