Gretel could have been from Mars and he wouldn’t have cared. Although, it would have made her a lot more interesting since he had never met anyone that wasn’t from Earth. But, she was only from Germany and he really didn’t need to ask any more questions.
Yes, he was another vampire roaming around the hotel. And she didn’t seem all that surprised by it. Then again, she did mention seeing a lot of things and he was pretty sure that she had already figured it out when they has spoken over the network. He was surprised by the lack of questions, though. And threats. He usually got a lot of those, but there were none coming his way. Good. Because he didn’t need to hear threats. He didn’t need to get shit from anyone about being a vampire. And he didn’t need sympathy for being one either. He had left England on a ship, dying of consumption and arrived in New York a vampire. He wouldn’t change anything about that. He was who he was.
“Well, that’s a new one.” He had never heard of witch hunters before. That was definitely a new one to put in the books. He leaned back in his chair. So she knew about the new hotel victim. That guy really wasn’t shy about saying what he was. That could be dangerous. “And what are these extra conditions?” He was dying to know.
Okay, he hadn’t expected that. Nobody stayed dead if they died within the hotel’s walls. This place seemed more and more like Mystic Falls. People have died and come back to life. Himself included. But, now he knew if he wanted anyone dead, he’d have to do it outside of the hotel walls. “Been there, done that. It’s not that awkward.” Wow, she didn’t ask her question. “No more questions?”
