Thursday evening Who: Natasha Romanoff and Steve Rogers What: Borrowing some clothes When: Thursday evening Where: Room 406 Rating: PG, probably Status: Closed/In-Progress
The change in wardrobe was the least of Natasha's worries. What was far more disconcerting to her was the fact that she didn't at all remember how she got there in the first place. One second, she had been on a motorcycle, and the next, she'd signed her name in the guest book in the lobby. She'd grown accustomed to a certain amount of strangeness in her life, but none of the brush-ins she'd had with magic so far quite compared to this.
This felt more like she'd gone down the rabbit hole. Her first thought was that it had to be some massive hallucination, but she figured out soon enough that it was entirely real. Somehow. Even the costume she'd arrived in was real, to her dismay.
As if the one costume wasn't bad enough, her entire wardrobe had been replaced by costumes all from the Nutcracker. There were the normal, practical things - underwear, socks, bras - in abundance, but everything else had been replaced by tights, tutus, and toe shoes. To her relief, some of her other items, namely some of her weapons, had arrived safely. She strapped a Glock each to her thighs, and wore her Widow's Bite on her wrists. It gave her a little bit more security. It also made her look more comical than she already did, if that was possible. Now she was an armed ballerina.
The only slightly positive thing about the hotel, if it could be considered positive, was that Steve had shown up, as well. While she wouldn't have wished getting stuck somewhere on anyone else, it was a comfort knowing she wasn't alone there. She knew she wasn't alone - she'd already met another 'guest' - but having someone she knew there helped... especially when that someone was Steve.
After some confusion with the elevator, which brought her to the first floor and back to her own three times before getting to Steve's, she arrived at Steve's room and knocked. The less time she had to spend dressed as a fairy, the better.
