Mason watched the vampire for a moment before finally nodding. He might still have some misgivings about the bloke, but if he hadn't tried anything yet, he didn't know why he would start anything now.
"All right," he said, and took a step towards the bedroom. He did pause then, however and added a sincere, "Thank you." It was for the room, but also for everything. Then he headed back towards the room, where he laid down and almost immediately crashed, even despite the vampire in the other room and the thoughts about his mother rushing through his head.
