Mason focused intently on his arm, as though by acting like it was the only important thing in the room that Ainsley sitting so close wasn't an issue. He figured, however, that if the vampire was going to act on his primal urges, he already would have. The fact that he made it out of that hallway alive was pretty telling. Or so he hoped.
His jaw clenched tightly at Ainsley's question, however, and he accidentally swiped hard enough at his arm with the towel to make himself wince again. He said nothing for a good, long few seconds before he slowly exhaled and blinked several times in a row.
His voice was a little hoarse when he finally spoke, as though some part of him really didn't want to say what he was about to. "She killed again."
