Mason didn't look away from the vampire until he was back down cleaning up the mess he'd been ordered to. That in itself was a strange sight. It wasn't exactly somewhere he'd imagined a vampire to work. They took what they pleased, acted as they wished, and destroyed anything in their path that they wanted or saw as a threat.
It was as though he remembered to breathe only once the vampire was out of sight, even though he knew the thing was still there. He looked down to shoot off a message on his phone, then carefully placed it on the bar in front of him so he could keep an eye on the response.
Truthfully, he didn't know what to do. He could try and leave now, but the vampire could very well follow him out. Rather, he was just going to sit there until he figured it out. He choked down another sip of his drink as he looked back to the spot where the vampire had bent down to gather up the glass on the floor.
