WHO Edward Pierce OT Alex Pierce WHAT A reunion WHERE Edward's home WHEN September 20, 2016 8 AM RATING PG (there will probably be swearing)
The thought that Alex maybe, just maybe, should have informed her husband that she was coming to Havenwood hadn't occurred to her while she was looking for flights. Or while she filled out an obscene amount of paperwork to get a new passport - she had been used to traveling across Europe, where all she needed was her regular ID, a laminated piece of green cardboard, until she got married and had to get a new one. It didn't even occur to her on the longest flight of her life, wedged between two elderly ladies that drank way too much wine and didn't stop talking about their grandchildren. Alex briefly considered it during the few hours she calmly explained what her intentions were to several immigration officers, but only to tell him how much his country sucked .
Now it was kind of late. She had survived the nine hour flight, immigration, and the worst rental car on the planet. When it occurred to her to call him she had already knocked on his door and she inwardly cursed herself for not thinking things through. For not really thinking at all, even, although she found that if one's husband reveals that he has been hiding a big and admittedly sort of ridiculous sounding secret one might be allowed to be just a tad bit irrational.
Then she heard steps approaching from the other side of the door she had been glaring at for what felt like hours, and she had to fight the urge to turn around and maybe see if this place had a coffee shop worth looking at. And a hotel that looked less likely to end up a crime scene than the motel she had stayed at the previous night. Instead she held on to the doorframe with one hand as if her life depended on it and looked right at Edward as he opened the door. "Surprise?"
