They hadn't taken any vows. At least not any formal ones. But Maggie had always wanted to share everything with him. The good, the bad... it didn't matter. It was all part of the package and Maggie had never once thought that she didn't want everything that came with sharing her life with Bastian. But just as she wanted to be there to help him carry the burdens that life had dealt them.... she couldn't force it. Sharing was a voluntary act and to force it... only increased the burden.
Maggie didn't know what the secret was to actually working past all this. Was it possible? Perhaps not in the way one would think. Life was never going to go back to the way it had been. But it could go on still. Maggie always believed that not everything had changed and what had... wasn't always for the bad. Granted there were all too many aspects of it she couldn't even fully understand yet but she didn't need to... not with the faith she held.
Simple things meant more now and she wanted to make certain such things were never taken for granted again. Every moment they spent together mattered.
Maggie smiled softly. "Maybe it's not right to resort to omelet bribery but somehow I think I can live with that mark against me." If it worked, it worked. Not that she thought Jonathan was home resting by any stretch of the imagination. Hopefully he was sitting down at least, off his feet for a while. He wasn't Bastian's age anymore, he couldn't go forever. Though that thought held a great deal more... irony then it ever had before.
Maggie was quiet as he spoke, her hand stroking slowly through his hair. "And you don't now..." she said softly as she took a step closer and sunk down, so her eyes were level to his, knees touching his legs. Her hand never left him, just smoothed down his cheek to his jaw, thumb stroking as she looked up. "There is only one way to find out." She added simply though it wasn't that simple. Maggie knew. What if it wasn't the same. Would that be the straw that broke the camels back? She didn't want to know that either.
There would always be pride in Maggie's eyes when she thought of Sophie and her music. Well thought of Sophie in general. "I don't think she'll mind too much having you around. Me on the other hand... I do lack the same cool vibe." She said with a small crinkle of her eyes as she smiled. "I know she's eager and I'm glad that you'll be able to help her with it all." A guiding hand that you could trust in the business Sophie was so interested in... that was essential.
"A lot..." Maggie agreed with a slow nod of her head. "Life moves too fast sometimes. I don't think it's going to be pretty. At least not on my end. But I'll try and not be that mom." Even if she really would be, she'd do her best.
