She didn't want to go out. But wasn't that always the case. So rarely did Eliina actually venture out from her condo on a trip that did not involve work or groceries that to go out for any other occasion... wasn't something she looked forward to. Tonight was just the sort of thing she hated to do. A cocktail party hosted by a client. How many times had she declined invitations to attend other events of that nature she couldn't even count. It had taken the pressure of a senior partner for her to agree to this. But as she'd pulled on the black dress that she planned to wear for the evening and put her feet back into a pair of heels... she wished she hadn't backed down so easily.
But she had and now when she had a million other things on her mind she was tucking a purse under her arm and fiddling with the keys. She had more than a few locks and more than a few other security devices... call her paranoid if you wanted, she would far rather be safe than sorry. She'd been sorry for too many years.
God she was tired. She had no desire to mingle, she'd never been any good at it, far preferring to keep to herself and only engage in professional relationships. An hour. she would stay for an hour to placate the powers that be... then be on her way. Tucked back into her condo. Not worrying about vampires that lived just above her or those from her past that she couldn't quite ever seem to be rid of.
As she stepped out of her home though, it wasn't an asshole of a vampire waiting for her as she so often feared... in fact she didn't see anyone at first. It was when she dropped her keys, fumbling to get them back into her purse that she finally noticed someone. Crouched down to retrieve the keys she spotted a pair of shoes. Shoes that followed up to a male form. Her shoulders tensed beneath the shawl she wore as she glanced up at the sunglassed face. "Can I help you?" She asked keeping a cool tone to her voice when what she really wanted to do was hit this possible intruder with her purse and lock herself back in her condo.
