Hope had never been part of a police investigation before but she had watched television enough to know that the detectives usually took notes. She appreciated that he didn't, however, as that would certainly be quite distracting. This way it was at least just a conversation. Granted it was definitely a conversation unlike any she had had before but it was more comfortable than it would have been otherwise.
