Better than some, but as always, has much left to be desired.
When my sister died of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, for instance, I was taken away immediately to be tested for sexual molestation - and my family was notified that my sister had been brutally murdered via sexual molestation. Upon later testing, this turned out to be false, drastic conclusions based on a diaper rash. So, innocent until proven guilty is often overlooked, first of all.
And then there are problems with bribery, misleading information, etc., etc... There are plenty of problems. But as said, no system's perfect and hopefully it will get better over time.
