I think you misunderstand: I was not saying man was around, as they would not have been at that point. I was saying that if they HAD been.
And actually, carbon dating is considered very accurate and most people will agree within the same few thousand/million years. Keep in mind, a million out of 4 billion would not be considered a vastly different guess any more than 1 would out of 100.
And, I agreed with omniscient, but I don't believe that means He would have a concept of time, nor that it is belittling to say an immortal being incapable of being destroyed would have no concept of it. Time itself is an illusion defined by man. By suns going up, moons going up, rotations around the sun, etc., etc... By people aging and dying. He controls it, it flows as He wants to, and we just define it the best we can as mortal people who will be on the Earth for the blip of it's existence. Time, when you look at the reality of it, is utter bullshit. Representations of things we go through, being mortal. If you were immortal, time wouldn't be defined by such small things as planet rotations and aging (since you wouldn't age in any concept defined by people today). Events that took place in your life or things you did would be your only marker of anything. "X happened before Y". It doesn't mean you wouldn't know, just that how long it takes, or anything, wouldn't matter. Time only exists to people who change and die and don't have that much control.
And you take what seems to be God's biggest project by turning it into something he spent so little time on to begin. A "slap together" job to an immortal being. *shrug* things can seem very belittling when you try to act like you know what God does or thinks or what he has done in any way. It's the result of mortal people who sin trying to think like an Immortal, all-powerful, sinless being.
