Re: Pour vous, encore
Do you mean that you havent graduated high school, and so presenting an argument is difficult for you... or that you're unsure of yourself and are just winging it?
I'm actually able to learn from some of the 6&7 year olds that I'm a councilor to during the summer. They know more than you think. Never belittle yourself.
The interesting thing about the chapter of Genesis is that it's historical. Not litteral. But spiritual history. It's not meant to be taken litterally... it sets up precidents (sp).
1) God is perfect.
2) God made everything, so it is also perfect.
3) Rest on the 7th day.
Those are the key points of Genesis. Isnt that's what important, and aruging about how 'long the day's took' is just an exercise in futility? People posture around, that I've seen, and say, "Look! I believe with nothing more than a few printed words on a page that tells me to! 6 24hr days!"
If a science book said believe this it's right or go to hell, people might take another look at it. It doesnt m a t t e r how long it took. It just matters that you get those 3 key points out of Genesis.
It doesnt specifically say that Cain lay with his sister. It simply mentions that after he was cast out, he lay with his wife. Yes, Adam and Eve were the 'originals'... but thats nothing saying that they were the only ones . Yes, I know, some of you might not have free enough minds to concieve that.
Shelter in the minds of those who need it. The bible is much like a great building in the midst of storm, where people can hide and then live their s a m e lives in there, thinking they are protected. Too bad buildings collapse every once and again.
Did that not make sense? Read it again. ...and again. Do it until you get it.
16. 16 characters, not words or chapters, were translated wrong. In the entire bible, according to the Dead Sea Scrolls.
