I hate divorce. It can be necessary, but it is my feeling that there would be MUCH less need for it if people thought things through or had a little bit of meaning to their marriage in the beginning. Divorce rates are out of control. I can't even imagine why you would marry a person after only a few months, but when people do that, it's not hard to tell that they will be divorced in just another few months. It's just sad to hear about people getting divorced after less than a year; when I hear about that kind of shit, I can't help but think to myself, "Wow, those people are fucking retarded."
Divorce has its purposes . . . but the people who really need divorces are few and far between. The bulk of them are dumbasses who can't plan what they're having for lunch, much less plan for the rest of their life. I don't think people understand that marriage is supposed to be for life; that's it: one person forever! So if these thick-skulled, moronic, cheese-dicks--otherwise known as your average American--could get that through their heads, maybe divorce wouldn't be such a problem.
So what is my standpoint on the issue? I guess I have yet to get to that. Here it is: make people go by the "till death do us part" thing, and by that I mean have them kill one another in a brutal blood bath . . . with sharp, pointy objects. In all seriousness, I think dumbasses who divorce 'cause they're stupid should just be slapped, but the ones who have real, honest to God issues that CANNOT be otherwise resolved should be able to divorce.
