Heeere's Loz! Who: Loz, Wizard Howl and Basil Fawlty What: Arrival When: Morning of cleanup after Kadaj goes "artistic" Where: Lobby Status: Complete
"A door closes one place, a window opens someplace else," Loz said as he dismounted his motorbike. "When the circle's complete, another begins. Sometimes, a entire sphere forms..."
He stopped to think, ignoring the ruins of Midgar all around him as he tried puzzling these ideas through.
"...the circles multiply and make the sphere -- kind of like materia...." His large hands, encased in black leather gloves, came together one on top of the other as if he held glowing materia between his palms. His green eyes narrowed so much the cat-like pupils almost couldn't be seen, but he didn't fathom how imaginary circles multiplied into anything like a globe.
Shrugging, the muscular man in black turned to enter the church. He came to Aerith's church sometimes, even though he could see her in the Lifestream at anytime since they had all died. It was possible to recreate this place in the Lifestream yet Loz returned to the physical frequently. Walking around in a strong body that felt the pull of gravity, he wasn't assailed by the many ideas of those who had also died. Here he could shield himself from being overwhelmed as he walked through the still intact part of the structure, moving past the remaining pews. Since he didn't know what had happened to Kadaj and Yazoo, who would explain things to him in the Lifestream, he often moped away from there.
At the far end of the church in the part where the building had crumbled, he stopped beside a stretch of water shimmering in the sunlight. Next to the pool, Aerith's flowers thrived where the floorboards had broken away. He remembered saying "Ewww," the first time he saw the lilies. Today he just looked at them like he almost liked them, but only because Aerith had cultivated them once.
A voice echoed through the broken church, ringing back into the intact portion and out again so that it seemed to come from several directions at once. Surprised by the unexpected and hopeful it would be his missing counterparts, Loz loped toward the church door. He didn't see the distortion until the last second but it was too late not to pass through the wavering air right between the doorjambs. All he could do was raise his arm defensively, the one with his Dual Hound weapon strapped to it, and he found himself not in the ruins of the old city. Turning his head of spikey silver hair left to right, his wide-opened verdant eyes stared in bewilderment.
There was nothing on Gaia that felt like this fancy cavern of a room. It must be what Shinra's house looked like. He was fairly sure of this but he wished Yazoo and Kadaj were with him. Weirdly, a little thought niggled at him that maybe this was where they had gone to?
"Hello," a voice from behind him greeted. "You must have just arrived?"
He twirled around, his weapon arm raised just in case, but he saw a young blond-haired man who gave him a pleasant smile and whose body language was anything but menacing. "Arrived where?" he demanded, lowering his arm. His gloved fingers twitch-contracted as if they itched to grab the gunblade holstered to his leg.
"Hannibal's Hotel and Restaurant. I'm Howl, pleased to meet you. They'll be expecting you at the desk." He pointed toward a big and fancy piece of furniture at the opposite end of the massive lobby. Then he gave his attention back to something painted in bright green on the fine woodwork.
Send us ba oz
Howl was there to clean up the rest of the mess, after coming upon poor Sebastian trying to wash it off the wall. The man had only washed away the ck to L portion of 'Send us back to Loz'. Howl proceded to draw mysterious symbols with some chalk on the wall.
Loz, not suspecting his own name had been there, moved toward the indicated desk. He felt a rush of some kind of magical energy, not like materia but powerful nonetheless. Twisting around, he saw Howl with raised wand, seeming to conduct a re-emergence and realignment of the fine paneling, until all the graffiti vanished. He didn't move until the wizard was satisfied with eradicating the last of the vandalism in the lobby. Next Howl went to finish his magical hotelkeeping along the hall and in the lift. The electrical feel and smell of magic lingered.
Loz loped to the desk, banging on it loudly with his gloved fist. Being a tall, well-muscled man, he made quite a lot of noise.
