This place had grown more familiar in the two weeks Chuck had been here, but she missed home more and more every day. She tried to think of this as an adventure, but part of the reason why she'd lived such a small life was just because she was a homebody type: she liked having the warmth of family around her. Ned was here, for which she was incredibly grateful, but she missed her aunts. She'd been missing them for years now, ever since she'd died and then come back to life, but she'd only just gotten them back again-- how was it fair to be pulled away from them so quickly?
She tried not to complain about it, though. She cooked for the residents of Halloween Town, the ones that ate human food anyway, and she tried to get excited about the upcoming holiday. Halloween had always been one of her favorite holidays, even if she would now be spending it differently. But then, what better way to spend Halloween than in a town specifically designed for the holiday itself? A town full of vampires and witches and ghosts and demons.
And apparently, a man with a false arm and a leg. She didn't know how that had happened to him exactly, or what precisely 'automail' was, but without those limbs he would have trouble walking and moving around. He couldn't even put them back in himself. Her heart had gone out to him when she'd read his message, so she had offered to help.
Arriving at the asylum, she moved cautiously inside. He'd said he was on the first floor, which hopefully meant that she didn't have to go in too far, because the place was a little creepy. (Not that the morgue wasn't, but she was more accustomed to dead bodies than the average person, so she didn't mind.) Peeking into one of the rooms, she saw a man sitting on the bed, who looked like the one she was looking for-- most notably, in that his arm and leg were missing.
"Hi?" she said, a little hesitantly. She'd realized suddenly that she didn't even know his name. "I'm Chuck. You're the person I just talked to, right? You needed help?"
