Despite the fact that the town was comprised mostly of strangers, Katrina didn't ignore a plea for help. She didn't know the individual who had written in the journal, but she did know that the town needed to stick together if they were going to survive what was going to happen. Her own town had been torn apart by fear and distrust, and she worried the same thing would happen here.
The second day Katrina had been here, she had spent some time making a small supply of a potion that promoted general wellness. She didn't know exactly what was the matter with the man she had written to, but she figured it was better than to show up with nothing. Pouring the potion into a cup, she also tied a cloth around her mouth before heading out into the ashy air. It was a little more difficult to navigate than usual.
However, it still didn't take her long to locate the man leaned against the wall -- it seemed likely that he was who she had been writing to.
"Ukitake?" she asked, voice a little muffled, as she rested a hand on his shoulder.
