Thread: Murder most foul! Who: Sally von Humpeding, Lydia Martin, Kurama [late and lamented], open to reactions or help from passersby or other lawman or -woman types! What: Lydia's found a corpse, or at least parts of one; Constable Sally is on the case, though she rather wishes she weren't. When: The evening of Tuesday, 8 October. Where: In the streets of Halloweentown, behind Belle's Books and Candles. Status: In progress. Warnings: A dead body, plenty of blood. Probably some language, too.
Sally already had her badge in hand as she hurried through the streets, just hoping that no scavengers would get to the body first. She hadn't seen any gnolls here, but nobody really saw gnolls, did they, right up until the moment they were dragging the evidence away. Anyway, she had the first-on-the-scene waiting who was probably up to keeping the crime scene untouched.
She smelled the crime scene before she rounded the corner. The scent of plenty of fresh bl... the b-word... made it hard to concentrate and she could actually feel her fangs trying to lengthen, but Sally was stronger than the cravings! She shook her head, breathed through her mouth, and patted her pocket to make sure the beetroot she saved for moments of extreme temptation was close at hand. Then she strode forward, turning off the vampire as best she could and turning on the copper, and flashed her badge at the young lady who was, currently, the closest thing to a witness she had.
"My name is Lance-Constable Sally, of the Ankh-Morpork City Watch," she greeted the girl, who really didn't look any older than Sally did (though looks were really deceiving in Sally's case, hullo, vampire here). "You're the one who called it in? I'll need to take a statement from you, but first I'd like to take a moment to examine the, er..." She glanced down, and if she hadn't naturally been pale with a slight blue tinge, she would've gone paler at the sight of all that... b-word. "Crime scene," she finished, and closed her eyes briefly to compose herself. Gods, she'd never wanted backup more. "Sorry. Er... you haven't touched anything, have you?"
