"A backup plan is good, you're right. It's really the only skill that I've ever tried to polish, but I'm decent at charms, so maybe some place will pick me up if I can't make do with a camera." Sam reacted well to him patting her head and didn't think that he was trying to treat her like a kid. It was affection that she'd been missing since Dean had broke it off, and she gave him a little squeeze before settling back into her spot the second time.
Sam did, however, take in what he said about his secret and was slow to answer, trying to figure out her thoughts and analyze his explanation. She bit her bottom lip and sucked in a deep breath before responding, trying to catch his gaze before she spoke. "I think that if you can't talk about it, you can't talk about it, but know that whatever you do, it needs to be true to yourself. I've had nothing but people trying to make my decisions for me my entire life, and I know that even though sometimes they're hard, the right decisions are only the ones you can make."
The conversation was pretty deep, but she wanted him to feel like he had someone to confide in. "I promise I'm good at keeping secrets. It's why I'm so good at being me."
