Damon and Astoria- In the Hedge Maze
"I got you," Damon said and doubled his hold on her. If he could just keep holding onto her, he could almost feel the faintest bit of courage trickling back into his veins. "Don't be afraid." He wasn't sure if that was more for her or for himself, but he had found a renewed ambition to find his way out of this depressing place.
He slid his hand down until he caught a hold of hers. "Stay close," he said, and he didn't doubt she would. She was trembling against him, and he wasn't sure she would even let him go long enough for them to start walking toward the exit. His eyes once again focused on the sky above. He squinted and, if only for the briefest of seconds, he recognized a single star in the sky.
"Come," he told her and slowly took a step in the direct where he believed he would find the exit. "I won't let you go."
